Help Provide Education to Children in Haiti This Thanksgiving Season

Fr. Randy     Nov 7, 2017 3:54:01 PM

mh_GT.jpg#GivingTuesday is one of the biggest global giving days of the year. It occurs on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving which follows two of the biggest shopping events of the year, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

This #GivingTuesday we are in need of 28 sponsors to support 28 of our students at St, Jean Bosco School in Haiti for $10 a month. Will you be one of the 28?

St. Jean Bosco is located in the poor, remote mountain-village of Northeast Haiti. This village is home to about 20,000 people, and is lacking meaningful infrastructure and valuable resources. Education in Haiti is highly valued but many children can’t afford to attend private schools which have larger availability and are higher quality.

A little over 700 students attend St. Jean Bosco, but many have to leave halfway through the year because they can no longer afford tuition.

For $10 a month for a year or a one time donation of $120, you can help provide education to a child in Haiti. This expense covers tuition, all books, and a lunch (for some students this is the only meal they get all day). Our hope this holiday season is to help bring education to the poorest of the poor, and in so doing, be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need. Will you consider joining us and providing the gift of education?

If you’re unable to provide financial support to a student this year, we invite you to get involved in other ways by praying over these children, spreading the word about our cause, and staying in touch with information about this region. As always, we thank you for your continued generosity and dedication to our organization. May you and your loved ones be blessed over this holiday season.
